Annual Sullivan County Job Fair to be held on March 29th

(Monticello, NY 11:40am) - The Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development and the NYS Department of Labor are hosting the Annual Sullivan County Job Fair on Wednesday March 29th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Ted Stroeble Recreation Center, 10 Jefferson Street in Monticello. The Job Fair will bring together 38 employers from a variety of industries with over 400 job openings. There will be businesses offering jobs for all skill levels in industries such as Healthcare, Residential Care, Hospitality, Retail, Education, and Transportation.

Energize NY And Solarize Sullivan To Be Introduced To The Sullivan County Business And Not For Profit Community

Tax Foreclosure Auction Rescheduled to August 29; Repurchase Deadline Extended

Monticello, NY – Legislators unanimously agreed yesterday to reschedule Sullivan County’s 2018 Real Estate Tax Foreclosure Auction to August 29, 2018.

Several last-minute pleas from residents who wanted to repurchase their properties led the Legislature to decide that the auction, typically held in June every year, should be postponed to allow further time for repurchases.

“People fall on hard times, and we as a Legislature understand that,” Chairman Luis Alvarez stated. “We don’t want to unduly burden taxpayers, though there is a process they need to follow.”

Bethel, County Partner on Health Chats

White Lake, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services and the Town of Bethel Healthy Community Task Force invite you to a series of Health Chats throughout this summer!

Household Hazardous Waste Events Return!

Monticello, NY - Public Works Committee Chair Joe Perrello is pleased to announce that Sullivan County will host three residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events in 2018. 

The first is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. The second is scheduled for Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and the third is set for Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. All events will be staged at the Monticello Transfer Station’s Scale House area at 91 Landfill Drive.

Hurleyville, NY – The Sullivan County Historical Society invites you to the opening of its new exhibit commemorating the centennial of World War I titled “The Great War – World War I”. The opening will take place on June 16 and 17.

Sullivan County Accepting Agricultural District Applications

(Monticello, NY 9:45am) - Sullivan County is accepting applications from property owners seeking to be included in New York State Agricultural Districts 1 and 4, for a 30-day window beginning April 1st and ending April 30th. New York State Agricultural Districts are geographic areas that consist predominantly of viable agricultural land. Agricultural operations within the districts are afforded benefits and protections to promote the continuation of farming and the preservation of agricultural land.
