Members of the Sullivan County Legislature, the Sullivan County Manager, the Sullivan County Visitors Association and Friends of the Upper Delaware River will hold a press conference today (Thursday, June 1) at 2 p.m. inside the Government Center Lobby, 100 North Street, Monticello, NY to discuss their concerns and potential actions, including possible legal recourse, regarding today’s expiration of the Delaware River Flexible Flow Management Program.

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County officials and Delaware River tourism and fishery advocates today praised the agreement reached by New York City, New York State, Pennsylvania and Delaware to in essence preserve the Flexible Flow Management Plan (FFMP) that is vital to the environment and tourism of the Upper Delaware River Valley.

There will be a Special Meeting of the Legislature for Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10:00AM in the Legislative Chambers, 100 North Street, Monticello, New York. The purpose of the meeting is to accept/reject bids from the June 14 and June 15 Real Property Auction and any other business that may come before the Legislature.

A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Sullivan County Government Center Legislative Hearing Room, 100 North Street, Monticello, in compliance with NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation Phase II stormwater regulations, pertaining to sections of County Routes 64/65 near Bloomingburg. The meeting is to solicit public comment on the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Annual Report prepared by the SC Division of Public Works, for General Permit GP-0-15-003 issued by the NYSDEC.

Rock Hill, NY – The 2017 Sullivan County Real Estate Tax Foreclosure Auction will be held Wednesday, June 14 and Thursday, June 15 at the Ramada Rock Hill at 283 Rock Hill Drive in Rock Hill, NY.

(Monticello, NY) - Legislative Public Works Committee Chair Joe Perrello is pleased to announce that Sullivan County will host two residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events this summer.

The first is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM. The second is scheduled for Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Both events will be staged at the Monticello Transfer Station – Scalehouse area, 91 Landfill Drive, Monticello, NY.

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County has formally filed suit against a range of pharmaceutical companies, asking the courts to punish these firms for engaging in practices that the County (and multiple other municipalities) argue have worsened the prescription opioid abuse epidemic simply for profit’s sake.
