Hermann Hospital division of CRMC, located 2 miles south of the Village of Callicoon on New York State Route 97.

(Monticello, NY) - County Treasurer Nancy Buck has announced that a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the County of Sullivan Treasurer’s Department by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) prepared in 2016, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2015.

(Monticello, NY 2:15pm) - The Sullivan County Veterans Service Agency will have a “Valentines for Vets” exhibit in the lobby of the County Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello.  The Valentine cards will be on display from Tuesday, February 14th through Friday, February 17th during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The “Valentines for Vets” program is part of the National Salute to Veteran Patients Week.

(Monticello, NY 4:30pm) - Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek is pleased to announce the launch of the Energize NY PACE Finance program in Sullivan County, New York. The program is designed to help commercial and not for profit building owners reduce their operating costs and increase the value of their buildings through clean energy improvements. Energize NY provides building owners with critical support, tools and low-cost, long-term financing for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects that cut energy consumption, save money, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

(Liberty, NY 4:55pm) - On Saturday, January 21, residents came from all over the northwestern end of Sullivan County and elsewhere to participate in a drug take back event sponsored in partnership with the Grover Hermann Division of Catskill Regional Medical Center/GHVHCS in Callicoon. Thanks goes to the hospital for providing their security guards and a location.

(Liberty, NY 12:45pm) - Sullivan County Public Health Services is issuing a Public Health Advisory to notify the public that seven (7) cases of pertussis have been confirmed among residents in Sullivan County from December 2016 through the end of this month. Last summer and fall, the county health department investigated 32 confirmed pertussis cases through the end of October. This is a significant increase over previous years as can be seen from the table below.
