Monticello, NY – More than 50 welcome signs and historical markers will be installed across the County through the new Sullivan Signs program.
The Sullivan County Legislature awarded 13 towns and villages with funding for projects in the program’s inaugural year. There will not be a second round as the funding has been completely subscribed, leveraging over $140,000 in total project costs.
Monticello, NY – The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program provides an opportunity for eligible seniors to support local farmers and improve nutritional health by increasing their consumption of locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs.
The Sullivan County Office for the Aging currently offers Farmers’ Market Coupon Booklets containing five $4 coupons, for a total of $20. Coupons are valid through November 1, 2018 at participating Farmers’ Markets.
Monticello, NY – Sullivan County’s Department of Solid Waste & Recycling is pleased to announce that mercury thermostats are now accepted year-round at all County-operated transfer stations. Previously, these items were only accepted at Household Hazardous Waste collection days.
Liberty, NY – Sullivan County Division of Health & Family Services Commissioner Joseph Todora is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Stickle as Director of the Sullivan County Department of Community Services.
Effective June 1, 2018, the appointment was confirmed Thursday, June 14, by the Sullivan County Legislature, and Stickle takes over the role from Todora himself.
“I am pleased and honored to appoint Melissa as Director, a title I’ve been privileged to have for over 17 years,” he remarked. “I look forward to working with her in her new role.”
Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County Board of Elections reminds registered voters with the Democratic Party or the Women’s Equality Party that a Federal Primary Election is coming Tuesday, June 26, 2018 for voters within the 19th U.S. Congressional District (which includes all of Sullivan County).

Monticello, NY – The towns of Liberty and Thompson will soon be launching projects under the County’s new Business-Friendly Zoning & Permitting Program. Both were awarded funding to improve their zoning and permitting processes, and the Division of Planning and Community Development has funds still available for municipalities who wish to do the same.
