Sullivan Part of Mid-Hudson Reopening Plan

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek today affirmed that the Mid-Hudson Region has reached five of the seven metrics the State has set to begin a phased reopening amidst the COVID-19 crisis. Those five metrics are a 14-day decline in hospitalizations, at least 30% of local hospital beds available, at least 30% of local ICU beds available, at least 30 tests per 1,000 residents per month, and a State-approved number of contact tracers.

County to Conduct COVID-19 Testing in South Fallsburg

South Fallsburg, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services announces a COVID-19 testing site in South Fallsburg will operate this Monday, May 4.

Public Health is collaborating with Hudson River Healthcare and partnering with the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation to ensure bilingual advocates are available so that individuals can be linked to a healthcare provider or health insurance once they are tested.

Sullivan County Leaders Hosting Town Hall on April 30

Monticello, NY – Legislature Chairman Robert Doherty announces that Legislature Vice Chair Mike Brooks, County Manager Josh Potosek and Public Health Director Nancy McGraw will again be joined by Catskill Regional Medical Center CEO Jonathan Schiller during a Facebook Live Q&A session Thursday, April 30, at 1 p.m.

“I invited Jonathan back because he had answers many people wanted to hear, including the Legislature,” Doherty stated. “Our local hospital is the focal point in our ongoing battle against coronavirus – a battle we are waging daily and are intent on winning.”

Bridge to Close for Five Months in Liberty

The Sullivan County Division of Public Works is closing a portion of Liberty Town Highway 70 (Townsend Road), in the Town of Liberty, to replace County Bridge 404. County Bridge 404 is located approximately 0.6 miles southwest of the intersection of State Route 52 and Town Highway 70 (Townsend Rd.). This section of Town Highway 70 is scheduled to be closed to all traffic starting 8:00am May 1st, 2020, and will remain closed for approximately 5 months.

Care Center Welcomes New Administrator

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek is pleased to introduce Sherrita Alexander as the new Administrator of the Care Center at Sunset Lake. She began her tenure on April 13. 

“We are excited to have Ms. Alexander join our team at the Care Center and look forward to her leadership and the knowledge and experience she brings,” Potosek stated. “Ms. Alexander comes to us from the Eleanor Nursing Care Center in Hyde Park, where she served four years as administrator.”
