Liberty, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services today debuted a webpage on the County website, www.sullivanny.us/departments/publichealth/coronavirus, exclusively about COVID-19, commonly known as 2019 Novel Coronavirus.

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County has been awarded $442,500 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR) to assist low- to moderate-income households in purchasing their first homes. 

Assistance will be provided in the form of grants to eligible prospective buyers for downpayments, closing costs or home improvements. Grants will be up to $25,000, depending on the buyer’s needs.  

Monticello, NY – For the 29th consecutive time, the Sullivan County Treasurer’s Office has been accorded the Financial Reporting Achievement Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The County also received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the GFOA.

Narrowsburg, NY - The Sullivan County Division of Public Works is closing a portion of County Road 26 (Crystal Lake Road), in the Town of Tusten, to replace County Bridge 471.

County Bridge 471 is located approximately 1.6 miles northeast of the intersection of County Road 26 (Crystal Lake Road) and County Road 23 (Lumberland Mt. Hope). This section of County Road 26 is scheduled to be closed to all traffic starting at 8 a.m. on April 1, 2020, and will remain closed for approximately 4 weeks.

Monticello, NY – Effective March 11, 2020, the Sullivan County Clerk’s Office will add a $10 fee to all residential deed recordings.

On December 12, 2019, Governor Cuomo signed into law an amendment to NYS Real Property Law Section 291 that requires County Clerks to notify the owner(s) of record of residential real property when a document is recorded affecting said residential property.

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek announced today that two longtime County employees, Michelle Huck and Stephanie Brown, are transitioning into new and significant roles within County government – Huck as Assistant County Manager, Brown as the Commissioner of the Division of Health & Family Services.

Hurleyville, NY – The Catskill Readers’ Theatre is pleased to present an afternoon of stories, music, and women’s history titled “Celebrate Women.”

The program, sponsored by the Sullivan County Historical Society, will celebrate women with songs, literature, and a Powerpoint presentation. Female “movers and shakers” are welcome! The event will be held Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at the  Sullivan County Museum, 265 Main Street, Hurleyville.

Hurleyville, NY – The Sullivan County Museum and Historical Society is pleased to once again present The Van Manakas Trio. The group will feature Van Manakas on guitar, Mike Bisio on Bass and Bob Meyer on drums. This free performance will be a very special reunion of the band who toured on the west coast in the 1990s.
