Liberty, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services is working closely with private healthcare provider Middletown Medical to quickly account for missing data arising from a software malfunction earlier this month.

On December 8, Middletown Medical implemented an automated system for reporting positive COVID-19 test results to the State and Sullivan and Orange counties’ public health departments.

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County plans to open a warming shelter tonight in Liberty, followed by a second one in Monticello tomorrow night.

“We intend to operate the warming centers from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on any night the National Weather Service forecasts an overnight low temperature of 15 degrees Fahrenheit or less. Tonight’s forecast low is 13 degrees Fahrenheit; therefore, we are preparing to open for the first time this season,” confirmed Social Services Commissioner John Liddle.

Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County office of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be closed for the next two weeks due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19.

“We do not believe any members of the public were exposed, but due to quarantine requirements, we will not be able to process in-person transactions from now until December 28,” said County Clerk Russell Reeves, whose office oversees the local DMV.

A skeleton staff of two employees will continue to answer phones, but all appointments scheduled between December 14 and December 24 will be rescheduled.

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services has confirmed that a diner at Colosseo Family Restaurant & Pizzeria tested positive for COVID-19. There is currently no indication that the patron contracted the virus at the restaurant or impacted anyone else.

Monticello, NY – By an 8-1 vote today, legislators approved the 2021 Sullivan County Budget. District 7 Legislator Joe Perrello cast the dissenting vote.

“It’s been a tough year, and this was a tough budget to put together,” said Legislature Chairman Robert A. Doherty. “But we agreed this is fair – and more importantly, a realistic budget that will not leave gaps for taxpayers to close.”

Public Health Services is advising that anyone who was in this restaurant, located at 60 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, on the following dates may have been exposed to coronavirus:

Wurtsboro, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services has confirmed that at least one individual at La Mananitas, a restaurant in Wurtsboro, tested positive for COVID-19. A second case linked to that one is likely, pending test results.

Public Health Services is advising that anyone who was in this business, located at 158 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, on the following dates may have been exposed to coronavirus:
