Liberty, NY – Following the initial rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine with local healthcare organizations and the subsequent major expansion of those eligible to receive the vaccine, Sullivan County Public Health Services will undertake mass COVID-19 vaccinations as early as the week of January 25 at SUNY Sullivan in Loch Sheldrake, supplies permitting.
Monticello, NY – The Sunset Lake Local Development Corporation (LDC) Board today sent the Sullivan County Legislature a list of three recommended companies to operate the Care Center at Sunset Lake (the Sullivan County Adult Care Center) and the Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA), both based in Liberty.
By unanimous vote on Monday, the five-member LDC Board has recommended the following three firms, listed in no particular order:
Liberty, NY – “Sullivan County Public Health Services (SCPHS) is very excited by the Governor’s announcement regarding the vaccination of Priority Group 1A and now, Priority Group 1B,” announced Public Health Director Nancy McGraw today.
“We have been partnering with Garnet Health and coordinating planning efforts Countywide, providing staffing and logistical support for the ongoing vaccination efforts,” she explained. “At the same time, our Epidemiology staff remain extremely busy, conducting COVID-19 case investigations and contact-tracing efforts.”

Liberty, NY – On January 4, 2021, the Home Energy Assistance Program’s (HEAP’s) Emergency Benefit component opens and will begin accepting applications.
Emergency benefits are available to assist eligible households with a heating emergency or a heat-related domestic emergency. Regular component benefits, if available, must be utilized first to resolve heating emergencies for eligible households.
Liberty, NY – The newly redesigned Sullivan County Drug Task Force, along with Sullivan County Public Health and Sullivan County Rural Health Network, is asking the public’s input regarding the availability of drug drop boxes and other safe and responsible methods of drug disposal.
“The input gained will help direct our attempts to reduce the amount of unwanted or unneeded medication in our communities,” stated Sullivan County Public Health Educator Jill Simon.
Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Public Health Services has confirmed that a diner at Ciao Bella, an Italian restaurant in Monticello, tested positive for COVID-19.
While there is currently no indication that the patron contracted the virus at the restaurant, the diner was at a group party, and the restaurant was hosting over two dozen people at the time, many of whom were not wearing masks. Additional individuals are awaiting their test results.
