Monticello, NY – For the eighth time in a row, the Sullivan County Budget Office has earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

A panel of judges reviewed well over 1,000 budgets submitted to the GFOA, including Sullivan County’s version for the 2023 fiscal year. They judged the budgets on their excellence as policy documents, financial plans, operations guides and communications devices, deeming Sullivan’s to be “outstanding” in all four categories.

Liberty, NY – An investment in local industry by the Sullivan County Legislature paid off on Wednesday, June 7 when seven residents graduated from the County’s inaugural Construction Trades training program.

South Fallsburg, NY – The Sullivan County Department of Public Health has confirmed that a stray cat euthanized in the South Fallsburg area tested positive for the rabies virus. Exposed persons are currently receiving appropriate treatment.

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County’s Veterans Service Agency will be closed from Monday, June 5 through Thursday, June 8 in order for staff to complete required Federal trainings.

Emails and calls will be answered during that time as staff are available. Walk-ins will be accommodated if possible, but immediate service cannot be guaranteed.
