DA Conaty Announces Nine-Year Sentence for Drug Dealer

Monticello, NY - On September 25, 2024, Sullivan County District Attorney Brian P. Conaty announced that Jacob McCoy, 50, of Monticello, was sentenced to the maximum of nine years’ incarceration in State prison to be followed by two-years of post-release supervision by Sullivan County Court Judge James R. Farrell upon McCoy’s convictions of two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class B felonies.

Second Tax Foreclosure Auction Set for September 23-25

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Treasurer Nancy Buck announces that a second round of the 2024 Sullivan County Real Estate Tax Foreclosure Auction will be held online only from Monday, September 23 through Wednesday, September 25.

“We have two parcels – both single-family homes – from the first auction that ultimately did not sell earlier this month,” Buck explains.

One parcel is located in the Village of Wurtsboro, the other in the Town of Fallsburg. Bidding, which starts at $100, opens September 23 at 10 a.m. and concludes September 25 at 10 a.m.

County Clerk's Office to Be Temporarily Closed September 19-20

Monticello, NY – The offices of the Sullivan County Clerk will close, starting Thursday afternoon, September 19, to complete renovations.

“Many visitors to our offices in the Government Center have seen that we’re reconfiguring our space to better serve the public,” noted County Clerk Russell Reeves. “In order to allow our Division of Public Works to finish these much-needed renovations, we’ll have to halt public access for a day and a half.”
