Monticello, NY – Sullivan County will receive nearly $1 million from New York State for emergency communications, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced.
A State Interoperable Communications Grant of $757,308 – funded from surcharges on cellphone bills – will be used to enhance the County’s brand new emergency communications system, which began operations just last year.
Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County Department of Solid Waste & Recycling has just published a revised recycling information flyer for the general public. The flyer can be found at any County-operated transfer station to pick up a paper copy.

Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County Youth Bureau is now accepting grant applications from organizations which serve children and youth within Sullivan County.
The Youth Bureau receives monies annually from the County and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services to fund youth development programs within Sullivan County. Eligible applicants include private nonprofit organizations, schools and municipalities.
Liberty, NY – The Sullivan County Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council (LEICC) will meet Wednesday, March 14 at 3 p.m. at the Gladys Olmsted Shared Clinic Facility in Liberty.
Early Intervention (EI) provides in-home services like physical, occupational and speech therapy to children with disabilities and or developmental delays. The LEICC is an advisory board to the Local Early Intervention Official regarding services provided in Sullivan County.
Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek has declared a State of Emergency for Sullivan County effective 12:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2018 to 12:00 AM Saturday, March 3, 2018, due to significant impacts from the ongoing nor’easter.
A State of Emergency is issued under Article 2B of New York State Executive Law. The County of Sullivan is communicating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service to discuss the potential track of the storm.
