Lake Superior State Park Opening May 23!

Pedal boats to rent at Lake Superior State Park

Bethel, NY – Lake Superior State Park will open to the public for picnicking, boat rentals, and swimming starting Memorial Day Weekend and continue to operate every weekend through the end of June from 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. 

Daily operation commences June 27 through September 7, 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Friday – Sunday and 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday, subject to weather conditions. 

Daily admission to enter the park is $5 per person. Children under 3 years old and veterans who present a valid ID issued through the Sullivan County Return the F.A.V.O.R. program can enter for free. Lake Superior also participates in the Golden Park Program, which grants New York State senior citizens 62 and older free admission to the park on weekdays only (but not weekends or holidays). 

Season Passes are available; Sullivan County residents are $20 per person, Sullivan County residents ages 62+ are $15 per person, and applicants must provide proof of age and residency.  Non-residents are $40 per person. Season Passes can be purchased at Lake Superior or at the Parks, Recreation & Beautification office in the County Government Center in Monticello. 

Boat rentals are also available at Lake Superior during beach hours. Pedal boats, row boats, single kayaks, double kayaks, and canoes are available to rent for $10 per hour, with a $20 security deposit per boat.

Lake Superior State Park is operated by the County pursuant to a cooperative agreement with the Palisades Interstate Park Commission.
