Monticello, NY - Sullivan County District Attorney Brian P. Conaty attended the Police Academy Graduation Ceremony for the Recruit Class of February 2025 at the Orange County Emergency Services Center in Goshen, New York, where he delivered remarks recognizing the graduates’ dedication to public service and their commitment to protecting the communities they will serve. District Attorney Conaty congratulated the recruits on successfully completing the demanding academy training process and commended them for choosing a profession defined by service, sacrifice, and responsibility.
While addressing the graduates, Conaty further highlighted the increased pressures on members of law enforcement due to the current social climate in which they are subject to unbridled ridicule, scorn, and scrutiny. “Nevertheless, your roles, and your tasks, have never been more important for the pursuit of justice” Conaty said.
The Recruit Class of February 2025 marked a significant milestone as it proudly graduated recruits employed by all of Sullivan County’s law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff’s Office, Village of Liberty Police Department, Town of Fallsburg Police Department, and Village of Monticello Police Department. Today’s graduates represent the next generation of public safety professionals who will work every day to preserve order, protect the vulnerable, and keep our communities safe.
District Attorney Conaty also expressed appreciation to the academy instructors, agency leadership, Orange County officials and the families whose support and sacrifice helped the recruits reach this milestone.
