First Sunday Concerts Return to County Museum!

Oxford Station Band

Oxford Station Band

Hurleyville, NY – After their wildly successful Groundhog Day concert, the Frederick Cook Society is thrilled to bring more live music back to the Sullivan County Museum stage the first Sunday in March.

Headlining the afternoon is the Oxford Station Band, a Hudson Valley favorite founded by legendary singer and guitarist Leon Swyka. The band delivers a high-energy blend of folk rock, classic country, and Americana that’s sure to get toes tapping.

Opening the show—and hosting the event—is a favorite local acoustic jam band, Little Sparrow: Aldo Troiani (guitar and vocals) and Carol Smith (guitar and vocals). They’ll be joined by special guest guitarist David Dann, an artist, music historian, writer and blues guitarist. He has a special interest in blues legend Michael Bloomfield and served as a consultant to Sony/Legacy on their recent Bloomfield boxed set, "From His Head to His Heart to His Hands." Dann also wrote and published a book titled “Guitar King: Michael Bloomfield's Life in the Blues.”

The concert begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1 at the Sullivan County Museum, 265 Main Street, Hurleyville. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served, and donations are greatly appreciated.
