Monticello, NY - On July 30, 2025, Sullivan County District Attorney Brian P. Conaty formally congratulated Samuel Sherlock, of Goshen, and David Allison, of Woodbourne, for successfully completing the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office Internship Program. Sherlock is currently attending Vermont Law School and expects to take the New York State Bar Examination in 2027. Allison is currently attending Mansfield Commonwealth University where he is majoring in Criminal Justice Studies.
During their time in the Internship Program, Sherlock and Allison eagerly contributed to the great work of the Office by communicating with police officers and victims of crime, researching complex legal issues, facilitating discovery compliance, drafting pre-trial motions and appeals, and assisting ADAs in court preparation. After successfully completing the Internship Program both Sherlock and Allison indicated a strong interest in seeking employment in the criminal justice field after their studies.
Conaty said: “The Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office Internship Program is an invaluable resource for young professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of the criminal justice system. As a product of the Program myself, I can attest to the invaluable experience and knowledge gained from assisting and shadowing prosecutors prior to being admitted to the New York State Bar. This Office was fortunate to recruit two local young professionals as dedicated as Samuel and David who are driven by public service. I wish to thank Samuel and David for their dedication to the Office and making Sullivan County a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.”
