Monticello, NY – What one change would most improve your ability to live well and independently in Sullivan County?
That’s the last question of a short survey the Sullivan County Office for the Aging is encouraging local 55+ residents to answer.
“We really want and need to know how best to meet people where they’re at – in their homes, in their lives, in their families,” says Office for the Aging Director Lise-Anne Deoul. “Yes, we have plenty of activities and programs at locations across the County, but we also seek to reach people on their ‘home turf’.”
That’s why other questions ask if respondents are unpaid caregivers, where a meal site might be most useful, who they trust for reliable information, and how they prefer to receive updates and alerts.

Then Come to the Senior Resource Fair!
The Office for the Aging warmly invited Sullivan County’s older adults to its Annual Public Hearing & Senior Resource Fair, running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 9 in SUNY Sullivan’s E Building (at the center of the campus), 112 College Road, Loch Sheldrake. Refreshments will be available!
The Annual Public Hearing begins at 10 a.m., providing older adults, caregivers, families, and community members an opportunity to learn about Office for the Aging programs, hear about priorities, and share feedback about the needs of older adults in Sullivan County.
The Senior Resource Fair runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and connects attendees with local organizations offering information, services, and supports for older adults and caregivers.
