Kathleen Lara to Be Sworn in as Sullivan County Treasurer

Monticello, NY – The County of Sullivan will officially welcome its newest County Treasurer, Kathleen Lara, during a swearing-in ceremony scheduled for January 2, 2026, at 10 a.m., taking place in the Legislative Hearing Room at the Sullivan County Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello.

Lara was elected County Treasurer by the voters of Sullivan County in November 2025, bringing more than a decade of experience within the Treasurer’s Office. Prior to this election, she served as Deputy Treasurer for 11 years, where she played a key role in managing County finances and supporting fiscal operations.

A lifelong resident of Sullivan County, the new Treasurer has deep roots in the community she now serves. She currently resides in Sackett Lake with her husband Rick and her daughter Erin.

“I am honored and grateful for the trust the residents of Sullivan County have placed in me,” she said. “Having served as Deputy Treasurer for more than a decade, I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of our County with dedication, transparency, and fiscal responsibility.”

The swearing-in ceremony is open to the public, and all are invited to attend.
