Liberty, NY – The Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force has made the following arrests:
- Ashton L. Clark, 32, of Woodbourne, has been arrested and charged with Welfare Fraud in the 3rd Degree, a Class D felony, and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the 1st Degree, a Class E felony. It is alleged that between April 1, 2022 and September 30, 2024, Clark was in receipt of $12,548 in SNAP Benefits to which she was not entitled. Clark was processed and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance in the Town of Liberty Court.
- Tahyia S. Chavez, 27, of South Fallsburg, has been arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, a Class E felony. It is alleged that from May 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024, Chavez was in receipt of $1,835 in SNAP Benefits despite having several sources of income. Chavez was processed and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance in the Town of Liberty Court.
