Legislature Meetings Reopening to In-Person Public Attendance

Monticello, NY – Legislature Chairman Robert A. Doherty today issued the following statement:

“Starting this Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the 9 a.m. Executive Committee meeting, the Sullivan County Legislature will welcome back a limited number of in-person audience members inside the Hearing Room in the Government Center in Monticello. Due to coronavirus-related restrictions, seating will be limited to 50 individuals, and half of that (25) will be reserved for the public, while the other half (25) will be for government officials. All members of the public are required to wear masks and properly social distance.

As part of this gradual reopening, public comment will no longer be read aloud at Full Board meetings of the Legislature, but audience members will be welcome - when they arrive at the meeting - to sign up to speak during the public comment portion of the Full Board session. However, comments about non-elected County personnel will not be permitted. Written comments can continue to be submitted to Clerk of the Legislature Annmarie Martin at Annmarie.martin@sullivanny.us or 100 North Street, Monticello, NY 12701.”
