Sullivan County, NY – Effective immediately, Sullivan County-operated Transfer Stations and Recycling Centers located in Monticello, Ferndale, Rockland, Highland, and Mamakating will accept credit cards for payment transactions. Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards are accepted. American Express is not.
This added option will facilitate transactions at the stations, giving residents and businesses more flexibility for payment. Please note that there is a minimum $2.75 transaction fee for all payments $100 and under and a 2.75% fee for all payments over $100.
“We’re working hard every day to better serve the residents, businesses and visitors in Sullivan County,” affirmed District 7 Legislator Joe Perrello, who chairs the Legislature’s Public Works Committee. “This is the result of longtime efforts by myself and my colleagues, and we’re now developing a completely cashless system via coupon books, which we believe users of our solid waste facilities will find even more time-saving and convenient.”
Recyclables continue to be accepted for FREE, including plastic containers, glass containers, metal cans, bulk metal, newsprint, corrugated cardboard, mixed paper, textiles, used oil, and electronics.
