On Thursday June 15, the Sullivan County Charter Revision Commission, which has been meeting since February 2015, will deliver its Final Report to the County Legislature at the 11:30 AM meeting of the Executive Committee.
The report will propose that Sullivan fundamentally alter its form of government, a change that would have to be approved by popular referendum.
The Commission will also reiterate its recommendation that the terms of the nine-member county legislature be staggered, with a maximum of five legislators on the ballot in any year.
The Charter Review Commission is composed of thirteen citizens from across the county who were appointed by members of the Legislature.
The Final Report will be made available to the press on June 15, after it has been delivered to the Legislature.
